at Life on a Colorado Farm. My son took a picture of one of the cannas, so you can see how they are doing.
Don’t like the wordpress changes. I know I haven’t posted here in a while, but that’s because this is mostly a backup for my blogger blog. I’ve tried to figure out wordpress, but mostly I can’t.
So I stick with blogger.
Anyway. We are mostly in limbo. Haven’t been to the farm (retirement property) since December. Had to cancel our February trip because of things going on at Hubby’s work.
For me and mine, the economy is NOT better; but we’re holding our own. Trying to refinance the house. Hard to believe that cutting just 2 % may cut our mortgage payments by more than HALF. I am sure I don’t understand the paperwork right, but we’ll see if we can get the darn papers signed.
Have a blessed day!
Sorry if I forget to post, but we’re headed home again tomorrow.
Our trip had a very wet start, but it’s looking to end with really nice weather.
Hope you all have a wonderful Friday and a safe and blessed New Year. ♥
Until our next trip to the farm. We’ll be gone about a week only. Just getting the travel trailer back where we need it.
We’ll be there over Christmas. I’m looking forward to it just being me and hubby, frankly.
Some days I wish the economy was better so the boys could find jobs and get a place of their own…
We’re going to fry up some Cornish Hens for our Christmas meal.
Hope you all have a blessed weekend!
Hard to believe the year is almost over.
We are definitely headed to the farm on the 23d.
We deep fried a whole chicken today. It turned out pretty good. Surprisingly, a 6 pound chicken takes longer to fry than a 12 and a half pound turkey. I mean, for that size turkey, they say 3 minutes per pound.
The chicken was roughly 5 minutes per pound.
The turkey was a first time with a fryer, too.
We are hooked.
Hope you all have a blessed Sunday. ♥
Houston, we have a problem.
Well, to be honest, hubby’s work has a problem. One that might keep us from going at all. But he didn’t get off work until 1930 (7:30PM for non-military/gov’t types) and didn’t want to talk about it last night. Said he didn’t need one more thing to think about right then.
And he has gone to work already as I type this.
The problem, among many, is he is the only one who can fix the problem. (He is also the only technician left in his office. All the others are engineers. Somehow, it was decided several budget cuts ago, that engineers are cheaper than technicians.
So they forced out or early retired all the other technicians.
(If only there would be an early retirement right nos.)
Hubby has seniority. They couldn’t touch him before, but we’re ready now. Even if he only gets 2 weeks to vacate like they did last time. We’re gone.
And to be honest, it scares the crap out of his boss.
Because he is the only one who can do many of the things he does.
Now to give them the benefit of doubt, they do have 4 other people working on this particular problem with him.
But we don’t (and may not at all) leave until the problem is fixed.
And we might not be able to talk about it tonight either.
I can deal with delay. I do not do well with uncertainty.
Not at all.
TGIF on a cold Friday morning.
